Captain Leon Godlock

Leon Godlock has served as a Law Enforcement Officer for 22 plus years and is retired from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office as Captain of the Support Division, but still works part time while also substitute teaching and bus driving for a local charter school. Leon has served in many capacities including Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Detective, Lieutenant, and Captain over Support Services, supervising over seven different divisions. In collaboration with his position as a Law Enforcement Officer; Leon is a community advocate serving as a Robert & Janice McNair Mentor, member of the Fraternal Order of Police, community team member for the Department of Prisons, Chairman of the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and serves on the Isothermal Foundation Board, Senior Citizen Advisory Committee.  Leon is past elected N.C. Association of School Resource Officers Region 8 Representative, former chairman for JCPC, a current Ex-Officio Board Member for NCASRO, and the current Chairman of Isothermal Community College Foundation Board. 

Leon is a graduate of Stanly Community College where he received his degree in Criminal Justice. He also attended Isothermal Community College where he achieved his Basic Law Enforcement Certificate, graduating top of his class. Leon holds a certificate in Advanced Law Enforcement Training, School Resource Officer Program, is a BLET Instructor at Isothermal Community College, and a trainer to other law enforcement officers in Rapid Deployment, Church Safety & Security and other law related topics.

Leon is married to Jackie Godlock and has two daughters, Jasmine and Christian. He is a licensed and ordained minister having served as an associate minister with Abundant Life Christian Worship Center in Forest City. Prior to that he served as youth pastor for 18 years at Jesus Lighthouse Tabernacle. He is passionate about working with youth and seeks only to be effective in whatever capacity he serves, but most importantly his desire is to please God.
