Aaron Greene graduated as a Teaching Fellow from Appalachian State in 1994 and began working as a math teacher at Polk County High School that fall. He spent 8 years in the classroom teaching all levels of mathematics. Greene earned a Masters of School Administration from UNC Charlotte through the Principal Fellows program in 2002. Mr. Greene worked as an assistant principal and was named principal of Polk County High School in 2003, serving in that role for 8 years. In 2011 he was selected to be the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Polk County Schools, and went on to earn an Education Specialist degree from Appalachian State. In 2016 Mr. Greene was named superintendent of Polk County Schools. Mr. Greene retired as Superintendent in 2025 and now serves as CEO for Dogwood Leadership and Management.
