W.H. Evans

Hill Evans grew up in Marion, North Carolina and graduated from McDowell High School in June 1973. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wake Forest University in June 1977 and a J.D. from Wake Forest School of Law in May 1980. Mr. Evans returned to Marion and practiced law with Robert C. Hunter for eighteen years and then continued as a sole practitioner afterward. In 2014 he sold his law practice to Wesley and Ellen Shelley, and he continues to consult with the firm upon request. Mr. Evans married Kathy Condyles Evans in 1981 and they have two daughters, a granddaughter, and a grandson. In addition to serving on the board of the McDowell Hospital and the McDowell Healthcare Foundation, Mr. Evans has served on boards of the Corpening Center, the McDowell Endowment of the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. He is also a member of First Baptist Church of Marion, and a member of the Marion Rotary Club. Mr. Evans enjoys sports, hunting, and fishing.
